Dermal Fillers

from £ 490
AUD

Dr O’Gorman’s advanced dermal filler skills ensure dermal filler placement is optimised at the facial ligament points to maximise the lift of sagging skin. This allows for a natural enhancement which is long lasting and which utilises less quantity of dermal filler than what would otherwise be required.

Cosmetic dermal filler treatments are used to add volume to facial features or to replace volume that has been lost with age. They can also be used for profile balancing, contouring and reshaping features to help balance the facial proportions.

Areas that can be treated with dermal fillers include lips, chin, cheeks, jawline, under eye hollows and tear trough, temple, forehead, brow, nose, ears, neck, and hands.

Once the dermal filler is injected, it becomes incorporated into your own tissue to create a support structure for your overlying skin. Dermal fillers last from 6 months to a few years, depending on the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How long does dermal fillers take?

Gaining the look you desire with dermal filler is as easy as it is quick. The results are instantaneous, with no pre-testing required. A dermal filler session often takes less than 30 minutes. If it is your first treatment, we recommend an initial consultation with Dr. O’Gorman so you can make a fully informed decision and determine which dermal filler treatment will best suit you.

Does dermal fillers hurt?

For lip treatments with dermal fillers, you will receive either a local anaesthetic block or a specially formulated anaesthetic ointment to effectively block any pain.

When treating the nasolabial folds (the lines between the nose and mouth) and marionette lines (the downward lines from the corners of the mouth) with dermal fillers, a specially formulated anaesthetic cream is applied.

Dermal filler procedures for facial contouring typically involve either the application of an anaesthetic cream or a local anaesthetic nerve block to numb the area.

Patients receiving dermal filler treatments are consistently pleasantly surprised by the ease of the procedure and the effectiveness of the pain management.

How is dermal fillers done?

During a dermal filler treatment, a clear gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts using a very thin needle. The dermal filler integrates with the surrounding tissues, providing natural volume, supporting the overlying skin, and smoothing out wrinkles.

Are there any side effects of dermal fillers?

After a dermal filler treatment, some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, or tenderness at the injection site. These effects typically resolve on their own within 1–2 days.

Most of our patients report minimal symptoms within 48 hours, and paracetamol is usually sufficient to manage any post-treatment discomfort. For lip dermal filler treatments, many patients choose to schedule their appointment before a day off, while others feel comfortable returning to work immediately. In rare cases - approximately 1 in 2,000 - more pronounced swelling, redness, or tenderness may develop and persist for up to two weeks. This can be effectively managed by our team.

Can dermal fillers be used during pregnancy / breastfeeding?

As dermal fillers have not been tested for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is our policy not to perform dermal filler treatments during these times.

Can the products be used for patients who have undergone laser treatment or chemical peels?

Yes, but it is recommended to wait until the area treated with dermal filler has completely healed and the skin has normalised - typically within 4 to 6 weeks.

What should I know about under-eye dermal fillers?

Under-eye dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of dark circles, hollowness, and tired-looking eyes.

The treatment is safe when performed by Dr. Michael O'Gorman, with results typically visible immediately and continuing to improve over the following days.

Mild swelling or bruising may occur but usually resolves quickly.

Results from under-eye fillers generally last between 6 to 12 months. The procedure is quick, involves minimal discomfort, and in London, prices typically start from £600 per session.

Which Areas Can Dermal Fillers Be Used?

Dermal fillers are versatile treatments used to restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial features. Popular areas include:

  • Lips - for volume and shape

  • Chin & Jawline - define the lower face with jawline and chin fillers

  • Cheeks & Cheekbones - lift and contour with cheek dermal fillers or dermal fillers for cheekbones

  • Smile Lines & Nasolabial Folds - soften deep folds using dermal fillers for smile lines and nasolabial folds

  • Under Eyes - refresh tired eyes with dermal filler under eye, tear trough filler, or dermal filler for under eyes

  • Forehead & Brow - smooth fine lines with dermal fillers in forehead or lift with dermal filler eyebrow lift

  • Upper Eyelids & Temples - restore volume in delicate areas like the upper eyelid and temples

  • Nose - reshape without surgery using nose job dermal fillers

  • Jowls - tighten and define using dermal fillers for jowls

  • Ears, Neck & Hands - rejuvenate ageing skin in non-facial areas

Dermal fillers are tailored to your individual facial structure and aesthetic goals for natural-looking results.

How Long Does It Take for Dermal Fillers to Settle?

Dermal fillers usually take 1 to 2 weeks to fully settle. Initial results can be seen immediately, but mild swelling or bruising may affect the final look during the first few days. As the filler integrates with your skin, the treated area becomes smoother and more natural.

Sensitive areas like the under-eyes or lips may take closer to two weeks. Avoid strenuous activity and massage during this time for best results.
