What are the benefits of anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections, like Botox, are a non-surgical treatment that smooths fine lines and dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and forehead lines. They relax facial muscles, preventing wrinkles from deepening over time. The procedure is quick, with minimal discomfort and no downtime. Results appear natural and can boost confidence. Safe, FDA-approved, and customisable, it's a popular choice for maintaining a youthful, refreshed appearance.

What are anti wrinkle injections?

This is a procedure where a purified naturally-occurring protein, botulinum toxin, that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles is injected, creating a smoother, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

How are anti-wrinkle injections administered?

Anti-wrinkle injections are administered by intramuscular injection with a tiny needle that leads to relaxation of the muscle by blocking the nerve impulses that trigger wrinkle-causing contractions.

Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?

What do the anti-wrinkle injections do?

The anti wrinkle injection is a simple, non-surgical procedure, administered by intramuscular injection, which relaxes the muscle contractions that cause dynamic wrinkles. It is a fast and effective procedure which involves no downtime.

This is an innovation in non-surgical facial enhancement that targets moderate to deep wrinkles. The wrinkles you earn in 35-plus years can be erased in days with this simple, non-surgical procedure.

This is a simple, quick, minimally-invasive non-surgical treatment that delivers dramatic results.

Where can the injections be used?

The anti wrinkle injections are used widely to remove:
frown lines between the eyebrows
crows feet lines around the eyes
horizontal forehead wrinkles
These expression lines may give an impression of anger, anxiety, sadness or tiredness. The treatment is also administered in many other areas as described above, with dramatic effect. Ask Dr O’Gorman for more information.

Has this treatment been used for a long time?

This treatment for wrinkles has become the most popular cosmetic procedure in America according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. These treatments have been taking place for over twenty years now.

What are the anti-wrinkle's side effects?

The most common side effect of anti-wrinkle Injection is tenderness and bruising at the site of injection. To minimise this, patients should avoid aspirin or other blood thinners prior to treatment.
There is a very small risk (1-2%) of a temporary weakness in nearby muscles, such as a slight and temporary drooping of an eyelid or eyebrow lasting 1-6 weeks.

There are no known permanent side effects from anti-wrinkle injection treatments.

Incomplete treatment can result from the recruitment of accessory muscles and a review appointment is recommended if this happens.

How long does anti-wrinkle injection last?

Anti-wrinkle injections  take effect after 2-3 days with a full effect at 7-10 days.
Effects are temporary, lasting from 3-6 months, with 4 months being the most likely duration. Results may last longer with repeated treatments.

The result will wear off progressively and eventually the wrinkles will return as before the treatment if repeated treatments are not undertaken.
